Homemade Vegan Gluten-Free “Chicken” Nuggets with homemade Tangy BBQ sauce! No more vegan processed junk! Now you can make your own vegan fast food “chicken” nuggets!
DISCLAIMER: This recipe is not super healthy since the nuggets are fried. However, it is 100% vegan, 100% cruelty free, and 100% awesome!
Oh yes I did! I just created the most perfect vegan “chicken” nuggets! And the best part: they are gluten-free!!!! All the vegan products out there contain vital wheat gluten AKA wheat, which I can no longer eat! So, when I was craving nuggets, I had to CREATE a recipe for them! There are tons of recipes for vegan nuggets out there, but chickpeas just dont cut it for this task! So I got creative, and used tofu and hearts of palm! Why hearts of palm? Because it’s white like cooked chicken, it has a bit of a bite to it compared to tofu, and I had a can in my pantry! How convenient?! 🙂
If I had to chose my last meal ever, I am pretty sure it would be this Nugget Recipe, served with the bbq sauce & my famous Big Mac Sauce!
For the sauce, my inspiration was McDonalds Tangy BBQ sauce. It doesn’t taste the same though, since McDonald’s version uses TONS of High Fructose Corn Syrup. I was not ready to make a recipe using that ingredient, if we can call it that, so I made a version using sugar I was happy with!! I think in love would be the best way to describe how I feel about this BBQ sauce! I would eat it by the spoon! How do I know? Cause I totally already have…
It’s really good, homemade, and much much healthier than store bought regular BBQ sauce, and especially healthier than McDonald’s bbq sauce! Homemade is always the way to go!
